Casual yet smart looking. Excellent weight for a cool night out or under a jacket when it is cold. I am 5'9" and weigh 170. Small frame and a medium is perfect. Not a baggy sweater nor would I call it a jacket.
Bought one in gray and quickly purchased another in black.

Fits well. Warm. Use as a layer in winter or as a top over a t shirt in fall. A little itch as it's wool.

Super nice without being too formal, well cut without trying too hard to be fitted, love the material.

Found myself wishing it had pockets (or at least one). If not vertical hand warmers that zip closed, then maybe just a little credit card pocket inside off the main zipper. I do think it is loose enough cut and thick enough fabric that well done pockets wouldn't have ruined the hang or anything though, I guess that is why it felt just a little like they were missing.

That said, a really lovely jacket of a nice weight to wear over dress shirts in the spring or fall.

This is NOT a jacket. It is a THIN sweater without pockets. The daylight shines through it! Someone has a very inflated view of the merit of their particular boiled wool.

So far so good. I normally where a medium (5'9", 170#) but ordered a large after veiwing what others had written and the fit is good.

I bought one of these jackets last year and a second one this year in a larger size. Excellent quality. Sharp looking jacket.

My husband usually wears an XL tall, he is 6'2'' and athletic build. He usually has to order tall, because he has long arms. However, I ordered a XXL and it fits perfectly. He really likes the jacket, blocks the wind, and is warm, but not too warm. I looks really nice, a quality piece. It is scratchy, as it is wool, but a long sleeve shirt rectified it. He has worn it all day today, and we just got it. The only complaint is that it doesn't have pockets. Overall, he loves it.

The image shown doesn't do the jacket justice. It's beautiful and functional: this jacket will keep you warm and the compliments just keep rolling in.

This is my new favorite go-to light jacket. The boiled wool fabric is wonderfully light and warm. The fit is perfect, with adjustable cinch chords at the waist.
It has replaced sweaters for me, in that it is more adjustable to the changing climates with the full- length zipper down the front. So I now have a flexible garment that I can wear indoors or outdoors. It also serves as a great warming layer under a wind or moisture shell. I couldn't be more pleased. In fact, I have come back for more.

I liked this product so much, I bought the vest for myself and my wife, and this jacket. It fits well, but it's boxy shape may not appeal to everyone. The sizing is accurate and allows for additional layering. They are excellent for traveling, except for really cold climates, as they cut down on the packing.

I love them and highly recommend them.

I bought this for my husband to wear instead of his ratty fleece. It is very nice. I ordered the large because I read reviews that it runs a little small. The large fit perfectly (he's medium in almost everything). This is our second Ivanhoe purchase and we've been very happy with both items.

This layer is not "windproof" but it does hold back more wind than a typical wool sweater. I like it because it is a single layer and so remains light and flexible like a regular sweater. I am an athletic 6'1" 185lbs and the LARGE fits me well, with a bit too much room at the waist, hitting just at or below the belt line. Most jackets fit far looser at the waist, so this fit is an improvement. There is a shock-cord synch at the waist which makes the sweater look more "technical" than classy, but otherwise this can pass as a casual Friday sweater. It's not as soft as the softer merino but doesn't itch me, and my wife even likes it.

I'm 6'2", 195, I bought an XL in charcoal, and it fits great and looks great. The fit is pretty trim (which I prefer), but leaves enough room that I can comfortably wear a long-sleeve shirt under it, and the sleeves are long enough for me, which is something I often have trouble with. It's certainly not windproof, but the boiled wool is dense enough that I can wear it outside without feeling every whiff of a breeze, as is the case with many wool sweaters. The zipper pull is on the left, and it has a draw-cord hem, just FYI.

I gave this to my spouse for Christmas, as he loves zippered cardigans and gets cold very easily. This one is perfect - I was worried about the sizing after reading some reviews, but it fits very well. The style is simple and thus goes with everything. The fabric is warm, not bulky and lightweight and the cardigan fits nicely underneath winter coats.

I've always preferred wool for its ability keep me warm even when it's wet. The boiled wool in this jacket is thinner than the heavy "army coat" jackets so it is more flexible and breathable. I use it as a single layer jacket under my gortex shell when skiing as well as everyday use.

This Ivanhoe jacket is very well made, light but warm. The boiled wool seems very high quality. It is an athletic fit item- be sure you read the sizing guide before ordering. I wear a 41 suit jacket and the size L just fit though it is sized 41-43 on the guide. Highly recommended.

The boiled wool is the the main attraction here - it's very warm, and has a great texture. I got "charcoal," which is almost imperceptibly lighter than Ivanhoe's "black." (If it were a bit lighter in color, that would be an improvement.) I have a somewhat athletic build and the chest was snug but adequate. The mid section was slightly looser, but it's definitely best for slim builds. It seems also that the pattern might have been changed slighly since the STP photo was taken and since the other reviews on here were written: I have somewhat long arms but the sleeves were more than adequate in length and I wear them rolled up a couple of inches. Also, compared to the STP photo, the length of the garment is longer in relation to the sleeves. I think the shape of the garment and the lack of pockets makes it most suitable for layering and I plan to wear it under a charcoal heather car coat on winter trips to colder locations.

Me: 5'7"/155lbs/Broad Shoulders/32" waist/42" chest. Large fits me perfectly - chest, shoulders/back, sleeve, hem, neck (when fully zipped up). Nice slim euro fit; not boxy like American stuff. I could see the arms being too short for taller folks. Don't expect to be able to wear this against bare skin - it's itchy. I wore a light mesh polyester t-shirt (Salomon X-Tee) underneath in a steady light rain at 45-degreesF and was comfortable - not hot, not cold. Water beaded up and didn't soak the garment. I don't see the lack of pockets as a negative as this is really a layering piece that can double as outerwear in milder winter conditions. I usually don't care for the size and positioning of the pockets from the factory anyway. This way I can have them added later and to my liking.
