I checked the Jack Wolfskin website and found a similar jacket made with the same outer fabric that states: "STORMLOCK: very light, windproof, breathable and water resistant fabric." I don't remember if my wife's coat had a tag on it that said "water resistant" or "DWR" or something to that effect, but I'm pretty sure it did.

The tags read that it is water resistant. However, I doubt if it would stand up to a persistent rain. It would be great in snow, however, and is very cozy.

I am really pleased with the comfort of this jacket, though I haven't tested in rain at all. It's definitely windproof! It's extremely warm, lightweight and comfortable...the best parka I've owned. The only thing it doesn't have, and I wish it did, is an inside pocket.

This item has some water resistance, but is not waterproof.

I have only worn my jacket when there was very light precipitation. It is water resistant for the weather conditions I encountered. I really love to wear my jacket on days when I don't need a heavy coat but the temperatures are still chilly.
