Verified Buyer Reviewed by Peoria Mom from Illinois on Thursday, January 5, 2017Bought these for myself for our first ski trip to Utah. I have Raynaud's Syndrome (which means the fingers and toes get cold extremely easily and dangerously) so I needed something to keep me warm but not make skiing difficult since I am a beginner! These mittens worked out great! Warm, dry and flexible enough. And I never got snow inside because of the length of the cuff.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by David from Seattle on Tuesday, January 3, 2017I bought 2 pairs of these for friends who wanted to go skiing. They were decent gloves, but half way through the day they became pretty damp. These aren't bad for shorter stints in the snow, but if you are looking for multi-day trips in the cold, bump up to something higher quality.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Raising three boys from Ohio on Tuesday, January 3, 2017The double closure keeps snow out and hands warm.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by dnari from Washington on Wednesday, December 28, 2016Plenty warm & nice forearm coverage. Size up 1 size to use extra gloves or liners in them for severe conditions.

“Where is the waterproof membrane and is it seam-sealed?
Can the insulated portion be removed from the shell (if the inner liner portion gets wet, you can change out with a different one)?
The waterproof membrane must be incorporated into the exterior fabric itself, as there isn't a separate visible layer. I had no leakage from any part of the mitten (but wasn't directly in water. Only in snow). The insulated portion cannot be removed, but again, it didn't get wet!
The gloves are seam sealed on the edges.
The insulated portion cannot be removed.
The waterproof membrane is inside the fabric. This item does not have a removable layer.
