Reviewed by jrk from SC on Wednesday, October 30, 2013Boots hurt the top of both feet. Therefore, for me the fit was not good and i returned them. Discomfort was too great to try to break-in the boots.
Reviewed by Mama says from Michigan on Sunday, September 29, 2013You cant go wrong with the craftsmanship of John Deere footwear. High quality materials built to last. I've always wanted a pair of quality wellingtons but could never pull the trigger when comparing costs of a pull on boot vs a lace up. As an on call firefighter I really wanted a pair of boots that I could slip on easily at 3 am, run through snow or rain (Michigan winters can be brutal) and slip off easily. These fit the bill. These are now my go to boots for everything I do. I've been wearing my Wolverine boots for 7 years and this is the first boot I've found that can replace them I and fully expect them to last as long.
The boots- quality leather good support footbed.
Size- I wear a size 12 in every shoe/boot I own. This John Deere boot wasn't available in a 12 (only an 11 1/2) I read some reviews about slight slippage and boots running slightly large. I took a chance on the 11 1/2. Boots seemed a little tight going on and there was noticeable pressure on the top part of my left foot where the ankle meets the top of the foot. I thought... jeez......wrong size.....I hate returning stuff (and usually don't) . I checked my toes and there was still room to spare to the front of the boot. So I wore them around the house for about an hour. They broke in well and the stiffness above the foot went away and all was well. Super comfortable. If I go a few days without wearing them the tightness on the left foot returns temporarily until they break in again. Usually 10-15 minutes. It gets better with more frequent wearings. I assume the leather stretches while wearing and shrinks a bit after sitting.
Durability- pretty tough boots . I wear them around the fire station and have put them in well.....tough situations. To be honest, I don't even think about the boots when I'm wearing them. They are work boots and I treat them as such. They repel water and I have even spilled oil on them which just beaded and ran off. I noticed a scuff on the toe after a day or so of wearing them at the station and thought, "wow, these scuff easily" (It looked like I had kicked a cinder block or something) I wiped a little mink oil on the toe and they looked good as new.
If you can find the right size I highly recommend this boot.
Reviewed by Mom of 8 from North Carolina on Thursday, September 5, 2013I bought a pair of these for my husband who wears them for work daily. He swears by the comfort and support. I ordered another pair for my 21 year old. He liked his dad's and wanted a pair too. These are made by Dan Post and are excellent quality. I definitely recommend these.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by onthebrink from harrisonburg, va. on Friday, January 25, 2013Good stiff work boot. Wore around the house for a couple 30 minute nights to break in and they worked great for the next work day in the wood pile. Great product Sierra.
