Reviewed by Bob from Maryland on Sunday, October 20, 2013This throw is good sized, warm, and cozy, but it sheds a lot and the fibers get everywhere. You to lint brush yourself after using this. If it weren't for the shedding, this would be 5-star
Reviewed by seadaugherla from Califonria on Wednesday, October 9, 2013I like that this blanket it a little lighter weight than the Elgin wool blankets. Its a little scratchy, but i like the colors and quality of it.
Reviewed by Katherine the avid veggie gardener from SF Bay Area, CA on Wednesday, October 2, 2013I've had a few things that are a mix of alpaca and wool, and alpaca is very soft. Last year I bought the Bothy throw (same maker) which is 50% cashmere and 50% wool, and it was so very soft and not at all itchy, so I thought I would try buying this for my husband.
I find that this throw is not as soft as the Bothy throw. I expected the alpaca to be close in softness, and instead, it feels just the tiniest bit itchy on bare skin. I think the longer alpaca hairs stick out just a bit. That is probably not a big deal since we will be clothed while using it as a lap blanket on chilly evenings. My husband has used this the last few nights and he likes it. The colors shown are very accurate and it is a very attractive throw, fluffy and warm.
Reviewed by jmoore00 from mississippi on Sunday, July 7, 2013I say a 5, my wife says a 4 due to not as soft as she was anticipating.. beautiful workmanship, large enough for 6'1". guess I just don't have sensory "SOFT" perception as well as my favorite lady. washed this one in cold water (after my pups enjoyed it, they said it was plenty soft !! ) , using "Forever New" powder from South Dakota, and the Alpaca throw did great. just hate the smell of something dry cleaned.
