Johnstons of Elgin Shetland Wool Throw Blanket

Closeouts. This authentic Shetland wool throw blanket from Johnstons of Elgin utilizes traditional Scottish heather-mixture colors. Designed to replicate the original style of rugs hand woven on the islands years ago, it is a wonderful and durable reminder of how the wool industry was the mainstay of life on the windswept Shetlands.

This is not as soft as I would have liked, but it's not overly rough either.

    The fringes are pretty long.

It's dry clean only. It's not super thick but I think it will be just right as a throw, the wool will be good insulation.

Has a very nice, subdued, natural, English-style coloring. It's a good bargain, if it were softer (or washable, so could be made softer) I might give it a higher rating. But, this wool is to be handled gently.

Beautiful, high quality wool blanket for display or as a lap cover. Would look nice folded and set at the end of a bed as an extra blanket or draped over the back of a sofa.
