This is a fantastic sharpener.
I've had this type of sharpener before. The ones I bought were much more expensive and also worked well.
The problem with this type of sharpener can be the suction. This brand has super suction. Sharpening blades work very well.

    This is really a neat little gadget. You use the handle on top to lock the suction cup so it doesn't slip while you're sharpening. When it's not being used, the handle blocks the sharp part on the top. And it's so small! The last thing I need is anything else taking up space in my teeny kitchen.

    I only gave 4 stars because relative to high-end, electric knife sharpeners, this doesn't seem to get exactly the same results, but seriously, for this price, I don't care. I still end up with very, very sharp knives. It's not like I'm gunning for gourmet sous-chef level results. Also, I could probably do a few more passes and see if that changes things.

    Oh, another small criticism is that the packaging doesn't say how many passes to make... How do you know you're done? (Rephrased: If you're a total amateur in the kitchen, your poor kids live on frozen "chik'n" nuggets, and cooking tools baffle you, how do you know you're done? haha).
