I live in Australia & I'm travelling into the U.S.A. winter & snow. This is the ideal coat I had been looking for. Just a pity it's not a little lighter to carry but then it probably wouldn't do the same job. I'm otherwise so very happy with my purchase & have told others about your product/s

For me, this jacket is warm enough down into the teens F. I like having a weather-proof jacket made of cotton. I think the styling is traditional and I can use this jacket in more places than I could a classic aussie outback oilskin coat. It is a great jacket and the price was terrific.

I previously purchased an oil cloth jacket from another maker and it was as comfortable as well worn shoes. It was cut full and was great for layering since these garments are not warm at all...This piece is still untested, but the snug fit is not a plus...These jackets should be made to grab and go...and a fuller cut would be appreciated.

The first thing I noticed is that this coat is surprisingly warm for only having a thin flannel lining. I've worn it in mountain blizzards and most recently Oregon drizzle for the better part of a week. The only complaint was that with the rain it didn't seem to entirely shed the rain like I expected an oilcloth/wax-cotton would. I do like the length - it's not so long that it gets in the way, but it's just long enough to cover my rear if I have to sit down on something wet. Pockets are nice and large. Overall, I would recommend it, though I think mine could stand a re-proofing.

I tried reallllly hard to make myself believe that I could wear this coat in the XL size due to my normal XXL being unavailable. The shoulders just would not cooperate. Other than the fit, of which I think an XXL would have worked, this is a fabulous coat for the price!!!

It is not as warm as I expected, but I was wearing it on an icy day. It may be just fine for wet weather that it is intended for. I wanted an oilskin, and this one came at a great price.

About Kakadu Australia

Aussie-inspired Kakadu hats and outerwear have been tackling rugged conditions presented by the Australian Outback - and similarly unforgiving environments - for 25 years. Their modern-day Microwax® cloth mimics the oil-soaked sailcloth of the early 1800’s that kept drovers well protected from the wind and rain. This super tight cotton weave keeps even ocean winds at bay, while the crystalline structure allows perspiration and moisture to escape. Add to that the water-repellent coating and you'll shed water as easily as a duck in a rainstorm. Highly functional Kakadu hats and outerwear are as ruggedly stylish as country they celebrate.
