Great product for a hellish winter

I needed sturdy, warm boots towards the end of a brutally, cold and snowing winter so many of my first and second pick boots were not available in my size. I ended up with these Kamik boots and so far they are working out well. Most important to me (because I have foot problems and need a roomy toe box and decent support) the boots have a good, comfortable fit. I went for an hour hike in them and my feet didn't hurt and stayed warm and dry (it was about 5 degrees). Based on other reviews I ordered my true size and they fit just right. They are pretty lightweight and flexible at the ankle. So far they are waterproof in deep snow (but the real test of this is spring thaw). Their height and thickness means that you need to tuck your pants and layers in - this does give a "cankle" look, but overall they are a stylish, good looking boot. My only concerns are 1) the lace tabs are fabric and I wondered if they would hold up to lots of tugging over time but I called the Trading Post and they said if I had a problem they could be returned at any time and 2) I bought the brown boots with white "fur" at the top and I have no idea how to clean this when if it gets dirty or dingy looking. I would have much preferred the black but they were sold out. I think if I had these Kamiks in black I would be in love with them. This was my first purchase with Sierra and they shipped my purchase speedily and customer service was great.
