This boot is awesome. If you know Iowa Winters, then you know this will be a great boot for trogging through the Snow and clearing out your Driveway, unless you need Terry to bring his Skid Loader to remove the deeper stuff!!

Verified Buyer Reviewed by MN hiker from Minnesota on Monday, January 2, 2017Biggest reason for rating these boots at 3 starts is because they aren't very good if you are going very far. They are good for shoveling drive but don't conform to feet very well so longer walks cause numerous problems. If they had another velcro fastener near the top and the existing one could go tighter, they would be a lot better. Besides being loose while walking, chunks of snow had a tendency to hit my leg and slide right down the gap between boot and pants.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Trob2185 from New york on Friday, December 30, 2016My feet are always warm in these boots, never have to wear 2 pair of socks again after wearing these boots. If you need a good pair of Pac boots with insulated sock ,these are the boots for you, Sierra trading post is the place to go buy them
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Eastern Oregon Cyclist from Oregon on Thursday, December 29, 2016I bought these for my husband after he spent many long cold hours in our unheated shop working on Christmas presents. He has always worn his hiking boots to work in the shop, but after 35 years in Eastern Oregon, and 14" of snow already this season, he has finally decided that it is time for snow boots. These are super warm and the tops come up high enough for the amount of snow we get here. He likes how easy they are to slip on and off, without feeling loose and sloppy. They do run small; he wears an 11 and I ordered a 12. Even at that, the liners are a bit snug and are quite a bit smaller than the boots themselves.. We're hoping the liners stretch out some with wearing. If not for that, they would have gotten 5 stars.

“Dad and brother going to Antarctica this southern hemisphere summer and need a minimum 10 inch high completely waterproof boot, preferably insulated, to step in icy water in and out of boats plus to hike in. Is this the best model to meet their needs? They've been told that rubber boots would do the job but that doesn't sound like they would be warm enough?”
It looks like they may, but it is best to check with who is guiding or outfitting their trip since they would have the most experience.
