Very Happy With My Kamiks

I'm excited to put my new Kamik Quest Winter Pac Boots to the test. Mostly for cold, since they are rated to -58 F. The liners are 85% polyester, and 15% polypropylene. I'm used to heavy wool felt, and will wait to try them in cold before passing judgement. Regardless, I would wear them with heavy wool socks if it was below 0 anyway. Liners are removeable, so can be replaced with wool felt if I'm disappointed.

As stated, if you're a 1/2 size, or plan to wear heavy wool socks, be sure to order the next size up. The foot cradle is well shaped for support, and the toes are roomy enough to allow wiggle room and good circulation. I like the higher tops, but as other have stated, they are pretty stiff. That's not a problem for my application (horseback), but might be for hunters or someone who does heavy duty mountain hiking. I think they'd be fine with heavy wool socks as long as the foot fits right.

I'm rating these 5 stars because I believe they are a very good value for the price. I've looked for several years for something as good or better than I already have-- that's affordable-- with heavy-duty leather top, decent tread that won't be as likely to hang up in a stirrup as some of the heavier tread, rubber foot with good attachment to the vamp, easy lace-up, and warm, removeable liners.
