Warm, practical, cute

I bought these to replace an ill-fitting and not-very-warm pair of boots that I initially bought for snowshoeing, which is something I don't actually do much of (we mostly ski and there hasn't been a ton of snow close to home). The other boots are bulky and thick but my toes are always cold in them. I've come to accept that this is pretty much a fact of life for me unless I'm wearing shearling-lined boots. Thus, my only test of these boots was in barely below freezing weather. My toes got cold but not numb, which is pretty good on the scale of things.

The fit is on the snugger side, but I am between 8 and 8.5 and got the 8. Others said these ran big and that was fairly accurate. If I were a true 8.5, I probably wouldn't be happy with the 8. I'm not wearing multiple socks or especially thick ones. If you layer socks, that might be a problem.

The interior lining is quite nice and feels very soft compared to the previous boots. They certainly feel nice to put on and the height is very good for dealing with snow (my previous boots are shorter).

I plan to use these for shoveling, going around town, and keeping my toes warm on the way to ski (I hate starting with frozen digits). I think they'll be good for all that. They're also bright red, which is cheery in the winter months. I can still use these with snowshoes. For very cold weather, I have a pair of shearling-lined boots, but they're not suitable for very wet weather or rough conditions as they're still leather on the outside and I don't want to ruin them.
