1.0 out of 5 stars. Avoid Keen Durand EVOReviewed by DFv from Arizona on Tuesday, March 19, 2024First of all Hiking Boots should be the most comfortable shoe you own. These boots are the fourth set of keens I have owned and this model does not fill that rule.
They lack arch support. They are too high for a "mid" and rubs my ankles raw on the trails. They made my feet hurt before and after breaking them in. I have tried several different sock and insole combinations and none have worked. Black boots in Arizona is a big NO for our sun, even in winter hiking. The usual roomy toe box of my past keens does not exist in this model. I can go on, but sadly, I have been disappointed by Keen this time around. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Pros and Cons - Mixed BagReviewed by Laurel of Boulder from Colorado on Friday, January 12, 2024These are really well made... and with an added tech feature that the boot has a bellows arrangement that basically eliminates any break-in requirements. Really, you can go into a deep lunge the first time you don the boots and feel completely stable. The toe bellows is that good. The drawback, unfortunately is that the boot inherently pre-selects where the "break" will be. If the bellows happens to align with where your bunion is (in my case), pain ensues. For a "wide" boot... these aren't all that wide. Yes, wider than the standard Keen footbed, but not a great deal. The boots I received (SZ 13) also seemed a bit short in the toe box as compared to a standard 47-ish euro size. So... great boots overall with a great tech feature though whether they'll work for you depends on your foot geometry and toe length. Wear them around for a while with those disposable shoe covers before deciding to hit the trail with them. You may want to return based on sizing oddities. Hope that helps.
