I live at 9,000 feet in Colorado and these boots are great. They arrived just in time for our first snow. I didn't even have to break them in. I did order a half size up which is perfect. LOVE these boots!

Question & Answer

Questions about this product? Get answers from community and staff experts.

  • “Hi! I am interested in these boots, but I do not know if they will fit me. I constantly have trouble sizing shoes at the store because, for some reason, my size varies with the shoe. Could you please tell me inside foot length of your smallest size available (I believe it's a Women's US 5)? In other words, the distance from the inside boot tip to the inside heel?

    Thank you very much!”

    • For a size 5 the insole measures 9 1/8".

  • “This boot is only 200g insulation. I don't see how it can keep warm in snow. Would this boot keep my feet warm in 1 foot of snow, 10 degrees winter?”
Asked by mabel from michigan on 11/19/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • There are number of factors that affect how warm a boot may keep you. Depending on your activity and what kind of socks and how you layer your sock. • “IS keens thinsulite different than different companies? I know that 200g isn't rated to very low temperatures, and normally for a winter boot I would get one for a higher rating. But I see here that you are saying it can handle very cold weather.”

  • “Would these boots work well for snowshoeing?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 1/23/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • These would be great snowshoeing boots! Enjoy!

    • Yes, these would be great insulated waterproof calf high boots for snow-shoeing. The sole is molded, rugged and strong. I may also depend on how sturdy and solid your snow shoes are??? I have snow-shoed in Alaska and Vermont and these are on par with Sorels.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
