Uncomfortable boot had to return

First off the boot is made with quality materials, but I had several issues with fit. First, underneath the insole at the heel is a rubber pad that protrudes up. I am sure this is meant as a shock absorber, but the placement of the protrusion could be felt and it was not directly under my heel. It was near the front of my heal and half in my arch. Second, the cuff of the boot is very rigid and the back dug into my achilles tendon causing discomfort. I can only image what it would feel like after a 10 mile hike. The waterproof lining material was also bunched up at the cuff and was especially prominent at the back of the boot. Lastly, I never felt I could lace these up tight enough to hold my foot secure. If I pull the laces tight enough to lock my foot in the laces dug into my metatarsal. I have a size 13 foot and Keens wide toe box makes my feet look rediculously huge. I felt I had far too much room laterally around my toes. I am on to another boot.
