This is my second pair of Keen Sport Sandals. I got a different color for variety, but my first ones are still like new and they are over 3 years old. I spend lots of time exploring the wonders of nature with little kids. That means, wading in streams and traipsing through lots of deep, sticky mud... Read More

They feel a little tight right out of the box, but I have time to work them in before living in them all summer. Love the color. Not my first pair of Keen shoes. Great brand.

I had been thinking about getting a pair of Keens for quite some time. When I saw these at such a great price, I decided to go on and pick them up. Plus, I really liked the cute color with the gray/natural tones of the sole and toe bumper. I have only worn them a few times, but they've been great! The first time I wore them, there was a little bit of rubbing on the top of my right foot, but I haven't noticed it again (although I've only worn them two or three additional times). I'll continue to wear them into the fall, and I'm not really anticipating any issues.

Waiting for Mud Season to pass so I can wear these out and about! I usually take a 6 1/2, and thought, from other reviews, they'd be a bit short; I took a chance on a 6 and they fit fine.

As always, thank you Sierra for a great product, excellent price, and a shipping department second to none!

  • “what is the difference between the newport and the newport h2 keen sandals?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 4/17/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • There are a few slight differences. The Newport H2 is meant to be in water a lot as it has webbing straps and a sole that will dry quickly. The Newport has polyester/cloth straps that will not hold up to as much water wear as the H2. Also the sole has a bit of a suede feel to it so it doesn't dry as quickly.

    • As far as I can tell, the difference is in the material; one is canvas and the other is nylon-ish...

  • “Do these sandals have good arch support? I have high arches and need the support for hiking.”
Asked by roxy from winter park, co on 3/25/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • Keen shoes have great support, are very comfortable and have a large toe box for plenty of room. They have a sole the grips and are good for light hikes to keep you cool and have easier river crossings.

  • “I would like to know if these can be used as a water shoe too? I am going to Nicarugua and don't want to bring too many pairs of shoes so am hoping I could use these in and out of the water.”
Asked by Vtskichick from Vermont on 2/4/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • These shoes will be great for Nicaragua, they will keep your feet cool with ventilation, keep water out when tromping through rivers and still have good tractions and climb on rocks with good traction as well. This shoe is good for an all around tropical trip.

    • Yes! They are very versitile! I would recommend that you do use them in the water!

  • “I went to local shop to try these on and all they had were size 6 on display, it fit my feet with no room for wiggle at all. I always wear a size 8 in other shoes. I've never had Keens before but keep reading conflicting info about ordering up or down 1/2 size. Not sure if I should order a 6.5 or 7 or other. Please advise what you think (I'm in Canada and don't want to have to return them).”
Asked by Rockafeller from Canada on 1/21/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • You should order a half size larger than your normal size. If you wear a 6, you should order a 6.5.

  • “How much do these sandals weigh (in ounces)? I need to know because I might buy them for river crossings on hiking trips but am loathe to carry anything heavy.”
Asked by Anonymous from Pittsford VT on 12/28/2009 12:00:00 AM
    • The Newport Sport sandal weighs 1 lbs 6 oz per a size 8.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
