I've had two different pairs of Keen shoes in the past, and always liked them for their roomy and secure toe area, the arch support, and their long-lasting strong soles. These Keen Versavent are comfortable out of the box, but they do not have the traditional toe support, and the arch support was minimal and needed an orthotic insole (an extra $30.00) for arch support. My main disappointment was walking on a level dirt trail as you felt every pebble and small stone you walked on. These should be listed as a walking shoe. Not worth the money if you're looking for a lightweight hiking shoe.
