I ordered these for next winter but have tried them on with my winter socks and walked around in them quite a bit. They are warm and extremely comfortable, which is why I buy Keen shoes and boots. Arch support hits at exactly the right spot. They have two toggles on them to tighten around your fo... Read More

As other reviewers have mentioned, they are quite snug in the shaft/ankle area. I've been wearing these when the weather requires for approximately 5 months, and the lining at the shaft/ankle has ripped (on the left boot) from, I imagine, my very narrow heel entering and exiting the boot, which I purchased a half size larger than I needed. In attempting to put the boot on, my foot got stuck halfway into the shoe, which meant I hobbled from work to my car and from the car into my home.

I hope Keen honors the warranty for boots from STP because, with a snow storm coming tonight/tomorrow morning, I now have no winter boots and I'm pretty darn annoyed about it. Total waste. These boots are now unwearable.

Love Keen boots BUT when I bought these, I thought quality, they are nice looking but getting in them is a challenge. The opening is narrow and laces do not give as the tongue area is sewn to sides. Also the inside liner bunches up. I like the comfort once in but id never recommend them, I wish keen would replace them for me, im a keen lover, I hafe 3 pair.

I ordered the size 5.5 of these boots, as I wear anything from a size 5 to a 6 or so depending on brand. I wear a size 36 in Dansko clogs and a size 5 or 5.5 in Salomon sneakers, for example. I was looking forward to these boots as I know Keen footwear is good-quality and I haven't had a proper pair of winter boots in years. Unfortunately when I took them out of the box and tried them on, they proved to be very much too small. I think a size 6 or 6.5 would have worked on my feet, but the upper/leg part of these boots doesn't open out at all-- there is no "tongue," there's just a cylinder of non-stretchy fabric, and I think even in a size that fit my feet properly the leg and ankle area would have been uncomfortably tight. The "laces" aren't really laces at all-- they are an elastic lattice thing that isn't very adjustable and when loosened does not make a difference in the fit of these boots' leg area.

I should note that I have very slender ankles and calves-- I'm 5'1", 104 lbs and don't have pronounced calf muscles-- so it's not an issue of having fuller calves that don't fit into boots.

These do seem to be very well-made and sturdy, but my impression is that they run at least 1/2 size small and it's just a poor design.

Can't beat STP prices though, especially with a lovely 30% off coupon!

If you want these boots to be super snug with a crew sock, then stick with your regular size Otherwise, order up.
I'm a 6.5 and ordered a 6.5. Will be returning for a 7. They're full pull on, so if you don't like that, these will annoy you. Its a tight slip on.
Sad to return them, super nice boots and not too tall.

Wonderful fit, but the stretch laces must go. I can hardly get my foot thru the ankle turn. Short of a struggle, the boot won, trying to find replacement laces.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
