Verified Buyer Reviewed by Spider monkey from Nebraska on Monday, August 4, 2014This tent is great, except for one thing: the very first time I set it up, one of the pole joiners broke. I managed to still use the tent (thanks to duct tape), but I was a little disappointed.
Other than that, quite pleased with the tent. It is very big and has plenty of room.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by A-A-Ron from Colorado on Wednesday, July 23, 2014Was hoping for good things out of the Hula House---but noticed multiple sections of the poles were cracked on the sleeve that joins sections. RMA'ed the next day. I felt this tent had potential for our family of four but broken poles do not equate to a structurally sound tent.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by JT Fisher from CO on Wednesday, July 16, 2014Tent would have been awesome had one of the connectors on one of the main cross beams not broke as we were setting it up the fist time. Luckily had a roll of gorilla tape that got us through the weekend. However got back and called Kelty's warranty division and they told me to and in the tent and they will send me an upgraded version. Hopefully with better poles!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Michelle, STP junkie from Iowa on Wednesday, June 11, 2014Great tent, the quality of the leg poles is horrible. 2 ferrules cracked during initial set-up, not 5 minutes into the process. Called STP and they were going to send out new poles, but then read some other reviews (on other websites) and decided that replacements would not solve the problem, we may very well have the same trouble. Love the size of the tent, but the quality is something I can't get by. It's going back, but I will continue to shop STP, love the deals!
Reviewed by ipartner48 from Montana on Tuesday, June 10, 2014Wow - you will be hard pressed to find another 6 person tent that can boast 110 sq ft interior. This thing is massive - haven't used it camping yet but did a trial set up so that I know what I'm doing when I get to the campground. Make sure to have a helper to put this up - definitely a 2 person job. And now I think I see why some reviews are negative. Yes, the main black poles are steel and have long ferrules on them. When you go to set up this tent, you have to make sure the other end of the pole is fully inserted into the ferrule - not part way, otherwise the ferrule may break. But when it's fully inserted, the pole structure is rock solid. The hoop pole is a really nice feature so it pulls the walls out and almost makes them vertical - you get a feeling of spaciousness inside. Fly goes on easy - as clips/buckles are color coded. I like this tent - highly recommended
