Full disclosure: this is my first pair of trekking poles, so I don't have a comparison point, but these seem very well made. I tested out the 2 telescoping points and put my full weight on the poles- I was happy that there was only the slight budge of the anti-shock feature. The cork grips are smooth and well molded- a bit more firm than traditional soft cork, which I'm sure will make them last many years. The only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars is that the poles seem a bit heavy. I look forward to giving my knees a break on my next big hiking trip in NH or the ADKs!
