At the time I purchased these, they were described as having heel lifts. I didn't see heel lifts in the pics, and chatted with an online rep regarding this because sometimes pics are inaccurate. The online rep confirmed that they had heel lifts. They arrived and did not have heel lifts. At least STP updated their description of this product since my inquiry. These are not $279 mountaineering snowshoes. No heel lifts = fatigue with hills/mountains. Crampons are poorly placed and cheap construction. The forefoot does not pivot as you walk. They are probably worth the current $79 price tag but no more, so don't think you are getting a deal. I purchased these for my father, and he hasn't used them yet but content to try them rather than return them and pay a little more or wait for end of season sales to get true mountaineering snowshoes. They get 2 stars for that and for fitting onto his size 15 boots. If they were for me, I would return them.
