It does a good job of blocking the wind. Moisture builds up on the inside from exhaling. Moisture collects on the skin that the piece is covering. It eventually drips down the chin and neck and makes wet a turtleneck top. It fit loosely on me, I couldn't tighten it except to keep it from falling off. About a 1/2" of space was between my face and the mask, when I moved my face deliberately. It doesn't cover the cheek bones and there will be bare skin exposed when wearing ski goggles. I wore the face mask for walking. I bought it for downhill skiing, but haven't used it yet and perhaps won't.
