3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice poles, mediocre gripsReviewed by Jimbo from Montana on Friday, December 22, 2017I really like the poles and they are a fantastic value for a carbon shaft pole. These poles are super light and ski well. I am having issues with the pole straps not staying secured in the handles. This is a real pain for skate skiing, when you literally throw your pole out into the snow behind you when the strap comes out. I have resorted to taping the tails of the straps to the handle since the friction wedge doesn't seem to want to stay in place. I would recommend Swix poles to anybody who doesn't want to mess with modifying the grip to get the straps to work right. I would have bought Swix but I can never find them in my length of 175 cm.

4.0 out of 5 stars. High End Performance, Mid Range PriceReviewed by Stevie in MN from MN on Sunday, December 17, 2017On sale at STP, the shafts alone are a bargain, add click in/out straps and these poles are fantastic. Grips are good enough, straps seem flimsy but I have one pair with 5 years and thousands of km's and the straps are still alive, a little frayed, grips still like new, no wear.
After discovering click straps, I would never use any other kind, they stay on our gloves all the time, takes 2 seconds to get poles on, vs. freezing your fingers fumbling for minutes with straps.
The only negative to these is the tips are not hardened and will eventually completely flatten. That's really a big deal, not sure why a few cents aren't put into good tips. They are easily replaced by heating in hot water, pulled, then new ones put in with hot melt.
We have a number of pairs of these, no shafts have ever broken, grips and straps are durable, the only issue is the soft tips, takes off one star. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Great poles if stp would send me the right sizeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Nate Dawg from Casper, WY on Friday, November 10, 2017Extremely light racing poles. Stp however sent me the wrong size and didnt have the correct ones in stock when i went to return. If your thrifty, you can dip the grip in very hot water for 1 min and slide the grips off. Then cut to size. Put a little glue on when you slide them back on. Got the right size that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars. sweet dealVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tom from Wisconsin on Thursday, January 21, 2016These are great poles at an unbelievable price. I've wanted a pair of race quality poles for several years, but couldn't afford them until I found these on STP. Note: you MUST get the size best suited to you. As far as I can tell Komperdell must have used epoxy on the grips and baskets, because they will NOT come off with gentle heating, to allow cutting of the shaft itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very goodVerified Buyer Reviewed by Curmudgeon Stomp from Boston on Monday, March 23, 2015There are lighter poles, but these are exceptional for the price. They are cheap enough to use for training, but light enough to race if you aren't looking for that last 1%. I'll probably use them for both to keep it simple.
The grips may not be large enough for all hands, but more comfortable than Swix in my opinion. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. very nice poleVerified Buyer Reviewed by RobG from upstate NY on Saturday, March 14, 2015This pole is light and stiff, as others have indicated. The wrist strap is also very short, as one other review indicated. Also, the baskets appear to be "skate groomed trails only" in that they have a very small surface area and penetrate pretty far into non-compacted snow. I guess the "Team" in the description should have told me that this is a racing pole, not a touring pole.
Still, my wife and kids really like them. I have problems keeping my hands warm (Reynaud's Syndrome), so the limited glove sizes allowed by the strap are a problem for me. I really like the poles when the temperature is above 25, though. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Very LightweightVerified Buyer Reviewed by CONordie from CO on Thursday, October 16, 2014A good lightweight pole for a recreational skier or junior racer. The carbon makes it less durable but that's that usual tradeoff that comes with lighter weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Really enjoyingReviewed by Central WA hiker from Central Washington on Monday, April 7, 2014First new poles in many years and very happy with them. They are light but still stiff and the hand/wrist support is very comfortable and supportive. I got these for my classic setup and think I will get a pair for skating.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Sweet poles!Reviewed by Anonymous from Colorado on Monday, January 13, 2014My first pair of poles were some bamboo jobs I bought some 30 years ago. I'd been using my backcountry ski poles (Komperdells as well) but when this deal came along on Sierra Trading Post I figured it was time for an upgrade...and I'm glad I did. These poles are sweet! Lightweight, strong, well-constructed and nice looking. My only complaint is that the wrist straps are too short...I can barely use them with my thinnest gloves (typically I wear a men's large glove size)...liner gloves only there's no way I can fit any sort of insulated glove under these straps. I will end up modifying or lengthening the straps somehow. Other than that these poles rock!
