Order these when you order the poles !

These are essential in my opinion. Slip them on the pole tips when you're not using them. Prevents you poking someone's eye out, or poking a hole in your suitcase.

Also, I put them on when hiking across a rock fall. These were giant granite boulders, and the rubber tips were better than the regular steel tips.

I haven't yet used the poles on asphalt, but I imagine you'd want to use the tips when you do.
