I bought my poles about 15 years ago. One of the reviews I read, said the caps are better suited for the older Kompedell poles. That comment gave me assurance to order them. In fact, I ordered 2 sets. However, the rubber tips were too big on my Komperdell poles.I ended up Krazy gluing them in place. Have not yet used them to see how they will hole up, and don't know what I will do once I need new rubber tips on them. I guess I will just have to cross that bridge when I get to it. That is why I gave the rating of 3, not higher.
On a more positive note, I have 2 other sets of hiking poles(cheap ones from Walmart) and the tips fit them well. It takes a bit of effort to pull the rubbertips off and put them back on, but not much of a problem. Any looser, and I will end up losing them somewhere. That is why I gave them the rating of 3 and not lower.
I used metal "nuts" inside both sets of the rubber tips to prevent the pole tips from cutting through the rubber. That was a great advise from another reviewer. Thanks to whoever wrote that review.
