Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Great dealVerified Buyer Reviewed by Terry from Virgina on Tuesday, December 23, 2014I'm honestly surprised Komperdell does not have the same high recognition and rep that Leki does. These are really nice poles. Anti shock feature, and it's easy to collapse them. They are lightweight and all round good sturdy poles. 4 stars instead of 5 because they could not manage to include baskets and I had to track them down and buy them separately ?!?!?) I mean, come on?? Really?
Anyway, at this price it was worth the trouble and as an FYI- evidently Komperdell manufacturers poles for LL Bean, so you can buy baskets from them that fit these perfectly.
Decent trekking polesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Fred from midcoast Maine on Friday, November 28, 2014I bought a pair of these poles for myself last year and found them to be fine for my purposes. I'm partial to the cork grips. The pair I bought last year came with removable baskets. The poles I recently purchased are for my son and appear very similar to the earlier poles, but did not come with baskets. I expect them to work as well as the older poles. I found that it's important to insure the poles are locked at the chosen height as I have had them collapse, when I didn't lock them in tightly. I know there are lighter, stronger poles available with more positive locks, but at a higher price...........these are a good comromise IMHO.
Trek PolesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bob from Massachusetts on Tuesday, October 28, 2014Purchased as a gift for GFriend since I overextended her old pair. Poles provided the durability and support needed. Cork handle is a bonus.
amazing for the costVerified Buyer Reviewed by jazz focus from new jersey on Wednesday, October 22, 2014I only tried these one day after receiving them. They are made so well! The anti shock spring seems to work well too and the cork handles are comfortable. They are slightly heavier than the Titanal pair I got my wife which are also amazing. However, I decided to send them back and get myself the pair of Carbon Approach Vario 4 which just came in. They are lighter (by apprx. 2 ounces each) and appear very well made also. If you've ever bought anything made in Europe (and this is Austrian) you'll see, there is a difference. I have not really taken them out hiking yet so that will be the test.
Unsure at firstVerified Buyer Reviewed by Cast Iron Kid from CHanhassen, MN on Monday, October 20, 2014When I received these, I tried to extend the pole to check the length. The joints were very weak and I was thinking that they won't hold up to much. I then screwed the pole together and then they had the strength.
When you get these, take a moment to get them to the correct length and then enjoy the hike. Hand grips are comfortable and easy to hold.
walking sticksVerified Buyer Reviewed by PM from Wyoming on Tuesday, October 14, 2014Good quality, well built, great stuff
Hiking sticksVerified Buyer Reviewed by Runnergirl from Wisconsin on Tuesday, September 30, 2014I like them very much ! I hiked in the Grand Canyon this week and they were great. I like the cork handles.... Very comfortable and the adjustable ends are great to be able to change for ups and downs.
Excellent product at a great price!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Joe from Southern California on Monday, September 29, 2014I have been using Komperdell trekking poles for nearly a decade. I wrecked my last pair finishing up the JMT a few weeks ago. I was able to do a quick field repair and ordered this new product when I finished the trip. The quality of this product seems to match that of other Komperdell models I previously owned. But with cork handles and shock absorbers, this is by far the best price for any similar trekking pole.
okVerified Buyer Reviewed by Don from IN. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014tip broke off on my first hike with them. S.D. was great. Returned the poles for a replacement.
hopefully the new ones hold up better.
Do not pass these up!Reviewed by Mussergirl from Wisconsin on Thursday, August 14, 2014I hiked the Chilkoot Trail last month (July) with these exact poles. I have bad knees, and my sister-in-law had foot surgery in January. We each used a pole and they were FANTASTIC!!! We will never hike without trekking poles ever again! They were a huge help for the boulders, mud, snow and river crossings!
