Excellent spring mountaineering boots

I bought two other pair of spring mountaineering boots before I finally picked these up. This model garnered a lot of awards when it first cam out nearly a decade ago, and I should have just bought them then. I bought the Scarpa Charmoz Pro GTX and thought they fit alright, but found they had too much room in the forefoot and (especially) the heel. As soon as I put the Trangos on I knew they were a much better last for my foot—12.5+ C. I went with the 46.5 and it fits perfectly, without heal lift or excess room in the toe box, though you may want to size up a fraction of a Euro size if you wear huge socks. I'd call them true-to-size.
