Order up! cool pants, short rise, wide bottom

These pants had a lot of great features, and almost worked for me, but I had a couple issues I couldn't get past. First the fit- after reading reviews for other La Sportiva clothing I decided to order up from my usual 10-12 and went with an XL (inaccurately labeled 14-16) which actually did fit....sort of. The rise is a little low for my well endowed booty, and while they didn't "gap" in the back as some bottoms do, they sat just low enough to expose the dreaded crack when bending over. The cut was really cute and if they were just a bit more mid-rise they would have worked. The second issue I had was the excessively long and baggy bottoms. Like, throw back 90's skate park club kid baggy. Not a style I'm looking to revisit. They do have a really cool and functional draw string at the bottom but there was so much fabric that it just bunched and poofed in not a good way. The picture here must be of a very tiny model, who can actually wear the smaller sizes in this brand since they do not appear nearly as baggy at the bottom. I loved the styling, construction, soft and sturdy material and overall feel of these pants, but unfortunately they were not for me. I'm searching for a good pair of light weight and durable hiking pants with good freedom of movement to bring on trip to Utah this spring, and I'm tempted to try another style in this brand...maybe. Probably not. STP- you need to adjust the numerical sizing on this brand to reflect more accurate European sizing. If you are a true 14-16, XL WILL NOT FIT.
