About Lambourne Stretch Moleskin Pants - Flat Front (For Men)

Overstock fabric. Soft moleskin pants from Lambourne of England have a tightly woven, richly napped fabric that wears very well and blocks wind -- perfect for brisk days in the country. A touch of spandex gives additional comfort when you're on the move. Premium quality moleskin is from the same mill that makes for high-end English clothiers.

Over the years, I've worn all the wool and synthetic fiber pants that I could find. These real English moleskin pants are the perfect cool weather pant. Like the Viyella shirt, they are comfortable, well made, durable and good-looking. Wore them shooting sporting clays last week at 30 deg. F. Pe... Read More

Great pants: material and fit great for 6'3", slim me. Label says machine wash is OK, but after a few washings, the fabric looks extremely worn, like worn khakis. Would get another pair if STP still had my size.

These pants are my favorite. I bought one pair two years ago and three the next. As soon as it gets cold I pull them out and wear them non stop until spring. I wear a coat and tie almost everyday with them to work. You can dress them down or up or wear them in the yard on the weekend. Warm and comfortable with style! My only problem is when are you guys going to have more? They are so inexpensive for such a qualityy moleskin you should have them available all the time.

I have had around a half dozen pairs of these trousers through the last decade and currently with a new pair made in Poland, while only worn a few weeks, is already splitting a seam in the crotch area. I must also report that I'm disappointed to find that they've eliminated a left rear pocket and that overall the build is perhaps less involved and ostensibly cheaper. The moleskin fabric seems the same as before and is nice yet I'll have to find out in the next few months if this too has gone downhill in quality.

I've worn English moleskin pants and breeks for decades - Barbour and Christopher Dawes. Cotton moleskin always shrinks, like jeans - not Lambourne. Had to reorder a size down (true size)to get the right fit. Probably due to the manufacturer's directions not to tumble dry. Otherwise a very nice moleskin trouser. I'd buy them again.

  • “The description says , ...with a "French Fly" ...- what is that ?”
Asked by kingfish1 from nyc , ny on 11/21/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • This closure has a front fly with an inside button tab; this keeps the fly laying smooth. It also has a hook & eye closure and extended outer tab with buttons.

  • “How much do moleskin pants shrink? Should I buy a size larger?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 11/25/2009 12:00:00 AM
    • Moleskin pants are made of synthetic fibers weaved in such a way to reduce wrinkling, shrinkage and stretching. You should order true to your size.
Answered on 12/1/2009 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • You need to dry clean them. Hence, they won't shrink.

    • Customer Care's statement conflicts with product description which says "machine wash hang dry". Who is right?
Answered on 1/2/2011 12:00:00 AM by Glenn from Austin, TX
    • You were given two very poor answers. Moleskin is not synthetic and it does not require drycleaning. My moleskin shirts have shrunk a fair bit so you may want to consider a size larger in the pant. Sorry I don't have any experience with them.

About Lambourne

Situated in Ipswich, Suffolk in the British Isles, Lambourne clothing is distinctively English. Taking their cues from the original hacking jacket, Lambourne sport coats are expertly tailored from natty tweeds embellished with details like suede elbow patches, action backs and ticket pockets. Lambourne is also well known for its premium moleskin and corduroy pants, made from thick, densely woven fabrics that hold their own on the hunt, but also look respectable in town. Women like to shop for Lambourne clothing as well, when they’re in the market for tartan plaid coats or long cashmere skirts that exude a country-estate air.
