  • Lots of Capacity

This reel has a lot of capacity and is quite light for its size. I beat up a lot of equipment thru heavy use so will have to wait to see if it is tough enough for that kind of use.

Overall a really great reel. have it paired with a 10ft 6wt rod and it works fine. Drag is easily adjustable and can be set ultra light or very resistant. Overall build quality seems perfect. sealed drag keeps all the junk out. Large arbor picks up line quickly doesn't allow the line to hold a curl. Only complaint is that is seems a bit light. if you are looking for a perfect balance go at least a size up, or choose a heavier reel.

About Lamson

When Lamson designers and engineers set about to revolutionize fly fishing reels, they threw out the existing assumptions and started from scratch. Beginning with a blank piece of paper, they re-designed, re-thought, and re-tooled fly fishing reels to achieve a crucial balance and optimal performance. Lighter materials like titanium and polymers took the place of steel, wood and cork. Simplified designs meant fewer components, lighter weight and amazing longevity. Along the way, Lamson shaved so much weight from the reel that larger, better-retrieving arbors were incorporated into the design. They topped off their list of impressive advancements with a high performance, conical polymer alloy drag system. The result? Precisely machined fly fishing reels constructed from space age materials that are so light, they seem to defy gravity.
