I love the rain
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gardengoyle from Michigan on Saturday, April 22, 2017
well it hasn't rained yet. this jacket is made very well. It is long in all the right places. I am 5'5" and 145lbs. I first got the medium. We are going to Iceland where it is chilly, rainy and windy, so I'm told. The suggestion is to layer. Could not layer well with the medium so I exchanged... Read More

Fits nice. Long enough to cover most tunic tops. I'm 5'6", 135#, size medium fit great.

I ordered 4 rain jackets to try. You will see a similar review for one of the others.
I"m 5'3", 135 lbs, 38 B chest. Athletic build. Size large was snug through the shoulders and chest with just a t-shirt underneath.
  • Stylish spring jacket.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jerseygirl from NJ on Wednesday, April 11, 2018
This jacket was perfect for early spring in Paris. The longer length in the back and sleeves are hard to find. The waist is slightly shaped so it doesn't appear to be a sack. Another nice detail is the plum colored lining in the hood and jacket. I am 5'8" and 140lb and the Medium fit perfectly over light layers with room to spare.

I haven’t worn this jacket yet, but I like the way it looks and fits. My usual size provides room for layering.

Very windproof (no ventilation either) but lightweight and great for travel, rain or shine.

  • “The description says this jacket has a tuck away hood. What exactly does that mean? Is it detachable or does it roll up along
the collar and snap or button?”
Asked by Caroline from Montana on 2/27/2018 10:58:44 AM
    • So glad you asked! I just checked and now see that yes indeed, the hood can be folded neatly into the collar, secured with a velco fastener and two discreet pockets. Hadn't noticed that before and glad to know, thank you.
Answered on 2/27/2018 11:21:23 AM by Jojo from Oregon
    • The hood rolls up and tucks away in the collar.
Answered on 2/28/2018 8:10:31 AM by Product Specialist from Sierra Trading Post
    • The hood rolls up and folds under the collar and is secured w/velcro

  • “How long is the coat itself? Also how long are the sleeves?”
Asked by JumpinJack from Washington on 2/12/2018 9:25:57 PM

    • Center back length = 30"
      Sleeve = 33"

  • “Does the hood have a drawstring?”
Asked by Danielle from Alabama on 4/24/2017 8:48:14 PM
    • Yes. It has a drawstring around the opening. It has a generous bill like a ball cap so the hood does not completely pull shut like a mummy sleeping bag. But it is perfect for the wind and rain.
Answered on 4/24/2017 9:00:09 PM by Rachel from Belgrade
    • Yes. There is a drawstring (with a toggle - so the hood stays tight if you want it too). This is a rain jacket - not a fashion jacket.
Answered on 4/25/2017 6:10:37 AM by Shadowblackcat from Michigan
    • Yes, the hood does have a drawstring.
Answered on 4/25/2017 8:15:51 AM by Product Specialist from Sierra Trading Post
  • “Should I size up to accommodate a nano puff (medium puffiness) jacket under this ?”
Asked by poodlegal from Cali on 4/15/2017 10:44:59 AM
    • Probably not...the jacket runs true to size, but there is plenty of room in the shoulders and underarms.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
