Love It

I bought this a couple months ago and my expectations have been blown away. In the past I have had mixed experiences with Marmot gear--the last softshell coat that I had from them was just OK in my opinion. But seeing that this was Gore Windstopper made me reconsider.

The color is great. It looks sharp. The Gore Windstopper fabric is the perfect weight and feel. I have another softshell from here made by a certain Swiss Brand that uses the same material and have had very good luck. This has been no different.

The fit is perfect. I love that it has a draw cord at the hem that ensures a proper fit. The interior finish is nice and soft but not bulky at all. All zippers work great.

It provides just enough warmth for everyday wear in the office and outside. I have found that the windproofing works very well. It is somewhat water resistant but a hardshell is necessary. It is thin enough to use as a layer for outdoor recreation under another layer. The stretchy side panels are a nice touch. It is not stuffy or bulky like other softshell material.

The only missing details I could see were missing zipper garages for the hand pockets. Perhaps this is a closeout from a few years back before they did such detail work. That is largely standard on other jackets that I have. A minor detail. The only other thing that folks might not like is that the vest has multiple logos on it (Windstopper, Marmot, etc.) so folks who prefer a simple look might feel like they are wearing a racecar driver jacket with sponsorship labels.

I'd consider getting the jacket version. Love it.
