My first set of trekking poles, they are great and trekking poles are worth having.

Ok, this was my first set of trekking poles. I was one of those guys who grabbed a broken branch and took off. I never realized how much better a set of real light poles would be. My first trip and so far only was a short 10 mile loop though the Ozarks hills. It was up and down and moderate to difficult hiking according to the signs. I would say more on the difficult side most of the way. Lots of loose rocks, leaves, sticks and uneven trail. Going down the steep descents has always been tougher for me, and the poles were a great asset and kept me balanced and secure.

As to this particular set vs. others, I have no reference point. But these were rock solid, had just enough give to kill some shock without creating any instability and easy to adjust. I found the handles very comfortable and was amazed something this light was this strong. I will never go without a set of real trekking poles again and I just don't see how any other set could be any better than these. They were also very cheap with the deal flyer coupon.
