I purchased this pack because the load is contained by the vertical structure of the pack, rather than settling into a fat-bottomed sack. It opens at the top only, so in tight spaces on public transit, nothing can slip out a side zipper. The USB port, theft-deterrent lock, and the bottle opener have come in handy (the ferry has a bar, yay!). At least two people I know purchased one after they saw mine.

Properly adjusted, the pack allows me to handle the weight of two laptops and peripherals comfortably, plus water, snacks, and little necessities stashed in its four internal zippered pouches. When I only have to carry one computer, I can pack lunch containers, a coffee thermos, and a light jacket.

The only downside for me is that the slippery adjustment straps don’t hold the pack as high as my short torso requires for very long. Knotting the straps helps for days at a time, though. Note that the pack cannot be overstuffed, or the hook won’t reach the closure patch.

The clean exterior has no zippers or extra pockets and pouches. It would be difficult not to notice a pickpocket trying to open the lid!

One of the best investments I have made in a while! Definitely worth every penny and more. High quality and designed product with many features fit for travel. I get compliments all the time. It is a sharp looking bag with a lot of hidden pockets, and the laptop compartment is super soft and sturdy. My only complaint is that it might be a bit small to hold all the stuff I need it to hold, but I'll manage.
