I really, really like these socks. When I put them on I just didn't want to take them off. They felt like they were a part of me. They support your feet and legs just at the right place. They also come well over the calf, which I like. Many socks end up in the middle of the calf causing the sock to slide down. I also liked the thickness, not to thick, not to thin to fit in my dress boots. For me it is a perfect sock. I washed them and dried as directed. When I removed them from the dryer I thought I had ruined them because they were smaller. But no, when I put them on they went right back to their original size. That was a relief. I would definitely purchase them again. For those people who are purchasing it for skiing, they are mid weight throughout the entire sock. They are not like some that are thinner in areas and padded in the shin area and footbed etc. only. I hope this helps.

They are soft but not as good as Smartwool at warming the feet up.

I love Lorpen socks. I have two pair of the heavy weight ones, and then two pair of these mid weight ones. Merino wool is the warmest and most comfortable material for socks. Especially in cold Canada winters.

I wear a size 7 shoe and most socks do not come in a small. Medium is supposed to be for a size 7 but it always fits a little too big. These stretch onto your feet and stay put. They are a perfect weight for cold Vermont winters. I use them for cross-country skiing and they are perfect. I ordered 1 pair and reordered 3 more. Perfect socks doing any outside activities as they do not slip.

Wore these skiing yesterday and they were very comfortable. I ordered based on the size chart and they feel true to size. I actually found they fit my calves better than the smartwool socks I have which is interesting because I didn't think my calves were all that bulky. I am a tad on the stocky side. These are very comfortable socks both on the slopes and apres ski as well (I have been wearing them for longer than I'd like to admit to the internet.) I can't speak to longevity as I haven't had them long enough to wear out, and I wish they came in a color other than white (I have kids and pets, what can I say - I don't like anything white), but these socks are a great bang for the buck.

I was looking for a warmer ski sock. Found these socks to be the perfect check off, with cushioning, the right thickness, and comfort. Another product I think I need to stock up on!
