Verified Buyer Reviewed by lrkg1234 from Indianapolis on Wednesday, February 6, 2013Nice quality, but small. I wear an 8-10 in pants and the large was too tight for a layer underneath. The pocket on the side was not flattering, and the waist was sort of high, like mom jeans. Maybe the XL would have worked better, but I didn't re-order primarily because of the side pocket, it has a gusset that sort of adds weight. Not good.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Avid outdoor enthusiast from Portage, MI on Tuesday, December 25, 2012These pants seemed like they were well made and nice quality materail, but I would not know how they actually performed since I could not get them zipped. They ran small in the waist, and VERY long. I'm 5'5", and they were probably 8-10" too long for me.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by amymcsib from salt lake city on Sunday, December 16, 2012These are nice, stretchy, lightweight trail pants. Great for snowshoeing, classic xcountry skiing, & cold-weather hiking with a pair of long underwear. They are high-waisted and very long in the leg,I'm 5'8" and they're 2 inches too long, but I don't need to use gators in the snow, so I don't mind.

“Ive been told a good pair of soft shell pants would be good for a hke up Mt Shasta. Would these be a good pair of pants to summit Mt Shasta in June?”
Soft shell pants are great for multiple uses, and would be great to use for hiking. If it's a chillier day you can slip a base layer underneath and keep plenty warm.
With properly layering underneath these can be used as ski pants.
Yes, these would be good ski pants. You may want base layer underneath for downhill or colder days. They are pretty light weight which makes them great for skate skiing or cross-country.
“They say light weight; what is the weight, are they wind and water resistant or proof, are they for winter activities such as cross country skiing? Is there a soft fleece or blend interior? There's not enough info in your description.”
These are 14 oz soft shell pants that will resistant wind and water. They can be used in winter to XC ski with the proper layering, or you could wear them in the summer for hiking. These are not lined.
