Have not had a chance to see these in action but they ARE nice looking skis!

This is my 1st set of skis after only renting a couple of times. I easily myself mounted the Rottefella NNN Touring Combi Nordic Ski Bindings - NIS Mounting Plate from Sierra to this ski and away I went. They grip the snow really well for control but are not slippery fast so they are a bit more work to glide but for me I'd rather have the control for safety sake while I learn. If I ever get good at skiing then they will be a nice extra pair to take a friend out skiing. With a great coupon the price couldn't be beat!

Ignore the bad rating. The writing downgraded it because he misunderstood and thought the ski had metal edges. It does not. Metal edged XC skis are used only for advanced touring on steeps with icy areas. They offer no other benefit and only a very small percentage of XC touring skis have metal edges. For most touring metal edges are a disadvantage. They add considerable weight to the ski, and they require additional maintenance.

These are good all around touring skis for a beginner or intermediate ski and will work both on groomed track skiing and back country easy touring (not on icy hills).

These were advertised as having metal edges, but they definitely do not.

  • “I currently have Salomon bindings with Atomic boots Alea 40, WSS wondered if these will work with this ski”
Asked by silly from Michigan on 3/10/2013 4:44:55 PM
    • There should be no problem.
Answered on 3/11/2013 11:17:28 AM by Jack from Sierra Trading Post
    • The Sierra answer is not correct. These skis include an integrated NIS system mounting plate and can only be mounted with an NIS compatible NNN binding. While you could mount a salomon binding on them by drilling through the plastic NIS plate, it is more trouble than its worth to do this and especially if you are not a skilled ski tech or real craftsman. All Atomic boots require a Salomon binding.
