Most Helpful 4-Star Review
Reviewed by Teacher from Texas on Sunday, January 12, 2014I ordered these shoes after extensive research; I was looking for a pair of hiking or approach shoes to replace my worn out Patagonia hiking shoes. I was initially unimpressed with these shoes because they are intense--they look, and perform, hard core. When I first put them on, they were very uncomfortable, as the insole is really, really hard and unsupportive. They were also stiff and much like a heavy duty hiking boot, just without the high top. However, I normally wear superfeet in my shoes, so I switched out my superfeet from my old shoes into these, and now I love them! They're tough enough to go over rocks and through mud without worrying about anything getting into them. I also really like the tongue, which is not really really a tongue but a solid piece with the shoe. That way it never wiggles around or gets out of place.
Reviewed by Traveler from Maryland on Friday, January 3, 2014Due to another review for these shoes stating they run large, I ordered a half size down. Unfortunately, they are too small. It appears that these shoes do not run large. I will have to return these as they no longer have my regular size. Too bad; these are nice shoes.
Reviewed by Vicki from New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 19, 2013I do really love how these shoes look. They seem well very durable and well made. The toe area by the big toe is roomy and fits my 'ski slope' big toe. What I don't like is the hard, flat insole. I haven't done any extensive hiking in them yet, but wonder if this will be an issue. They make the whole shoe feel like a flat board. I'm thinking about inserting a different insole (this one comes right out) to see if that makes a difference. Other than that, I really like these. If they don't work well as hikers, I'll be happy with them as casual shoes, especially at the STP price.
Reviewed by Outdoor Annie from Virginia on Tuesday, November 5, 2013I am usually a 7.5, but these were way too big on my foot... I returned them and am hoping that the size-7 is in the mail back to me! They are really nice looking shoes and comfortable as best as I could tell for the moments I had them on... Otherwise I'll update my review when the next pair arrives!
Reviewed by Sandy W. from Denver on Monday, October 7, 2013Nice, lightweight shoes. They are comfortable, and lots of my friends have remarked how cute they are: "That's a great purple!" I'm very happy with them.
