Mammut is a Swiss-based producer of high-quality mountaineering, climbing and trekking equipment. The company’s history actually dates back to the mid-1800’s, beginning with a single rope maker named Kaspar Tanner. By the 1940’s, the brand had officially adopted the mammoth logo and name. Originally specializing in Mammut ropes, the well-known alpine gear company eventually grew its product line to include mountaineering boots, crampons, harnesses and hardware. By the 1990’s, the product selection had grown even further to include Mammut jackets, pants, sleeping bags, Mammut packs and a host of other premium-quality essentials for the outdoor enthusiast.

Runs narrow but wanted to love these!Reviewed by ManyMilesAway from Washington on Wednesday, August 9, 2023I ordered an 8 (my usual size in 90% of footwear), but was tempted to order an 8.5 to allow for hiking socks. These are just too narrow and snug. A 9 might have worked, but wasn't available. Will be returning these, unfortunately. I so wanted to love these. I'd order up a full size to allow for hiking socks. On the Mammut site the sizes are listed with EU sizing, which doesn't always translate straight across to American sizing. I even measured my foot and ordered based on their sizing recommendation. Oh, well.

make a rational decision about a piece of equipment and compare it to similar items if we don't know the weight. -
