Most likely if your purchasing this bag from STP your looking for bargain deals on good products. This bag fits that bill especially w/ the 30% coupon. Nowhere else can you purchase a decent Down bag for around 130. This bag doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it is compressible and warm. If... Read More

  • Super bag
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Nebraska Climber from Nebraska on Monday, May 14, 2018
I have only used this bag once, so I didn't give it 5 stars for uncertainty's sake. I am not sure yet how warm it really will be in cold temps. These things I do know: in the low 40s, it was warmer than I needed and I had the zipper open most of the way to my feet. That was inside a tent, with another person in the tent, so it was not in extreme conditions. I am confident the bag will do well down to 20, and better than my previous synthetic bag. It is light and stuffs smaller than my old synthetic bag, which also was a 20 degree bag (North Face). It is super comfy because the bag itself is just soft and feels nice. I am short (5'3") and this bag fits me well without lots of dead space in the bottom, which is the case in regular bags. I found it fine in the shoulders and to move around in (but again, I didn't spend a ton of time with it all the way zipped and don't know if it would get confining eventually). I tend to roll around and try to bend my legs a lot, and I was able to be reasonably comfortable. The dog hogging the bottom of my sleeping pad was the biggest impediment to my comfort. Said dog, BTW, also approves of this bag and has been obsessed with it since it came home from STP. Upon being set out in the tent, dog decided my bag was THE place to put himself and instantly snuggled into it, having to be removed with something of a struggle. So far we're both very happy with it.
  • Great snuggley bag! Probably not for a taller woman?

I'm only giving it 4 because I haven't actually gotten to use it yet and don't know how it will perform on a trip. As well, I am only 5 ft tall, and the bag's length was just roomy enough at the bottom, but someone over 5'3" might be a little uncomfortable. It packs down nicely into the stuff sack and could be compressed more with straps if you wanted. Fits nice at the bottom of my 60L pack. Very warm as soon as I got into it, so I'm sure it will do well in cold temps. And a great quality bag as well.

Love this bag. It kept me warm on the Oregon Coast and was big enough that I shared it with my dog on a cold night.
  • great value

I look forward to taking this bag into the Trinity Alps, it's light weight and warm. I love the easy to use zipper and extra foot room. I'm 5'5 and 140lbs, I was able to lay on my side with one knee bent. I shopped around for a long time and I am very happy with this bag for the price and weight. I have already recommended it to friends.
  • For backpacking in the mountains during the summer.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Andrea art hiker from Colorado on Thursday, December 15, 2016
This is my second mummy bag for backpacking. I have a heavier poly bag for spring and fall, I wanted to reduce my weight for longer summer trips yet still stay warm at night. The shorter women's style helps with the weight. Although I haven't taken it out backpacking yet, I got inside it because I was concerned about other reviews saying it was too short. I'm 5'5", 155 lbs. It was roomy enough for me, but if I were an inch or two taller I might have length issues. So the description of 5'6" is very accurate, if you're taller than that, you'll be sticking out of it a bit. It looks like it's a great bag, and I'll really enjoy having it.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
