As a Scoutmaster I has a list of needs and wants for a tent: Light weight, compact, spacious, quality build to last many seasons of camping once a month in all conditions. This tent has so far met and exceeded my expectations! I have been camping in the snow, rain, heat, and wind and it has held up wonderfully when other tents in camp were struggling. It is light enough I took it backpacking, compact enough it fits in my 50 L bag with my sleeping pad, sleeping bag, clothes and gear. It is big enough for myself and my gear inside my tent, I also feel I could actually use it as a 2 person tent, it is the biggest 2 person tent I have ever used thanks to the vertical side walls. It is easy and fast to set up once you learn how to (it was a little different from other tents I have used). The vestibules are large. One of the things I wish was different was the size of the footprint: it does not extend out into the vestibules. I had debated between this and a 1 man tent, and I'm glad I got this one, even for backpacking my pack was lighter than anyone else's. I love this tent, and would recommend it to all who are looking for a quality, light weight, compact tent that is just right for one plus gear, maybe even two people and gear in the vestibule.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
