A Non-Tenter's Tribute

After camping with a trailer for the past 25 years, gas prices convinced us to try tenting again - so we are NOT very experienced tent-campers. Even so, when we pitched this tent in our family room as soon as we received it, the set-up took us only about 10 minutes. We used it for a 3-night outing in northern Michigan in June and loved it. I do not understand tent sizing, or why this is considered a 3-person tent, but we understood the dimensions when we ordered it and are happy with the size. When we put our two (admittedly outdated) rectangular sleeping bags in the tent, they slightly overlapped each other in the center, and had a few inches to spare at each end of the tent. Wonderfully warm and cozy for sleeping though, and I suspect the rain fly helps hold in the heat. One night it was in the upper 40's, and we were very comfortable. We stayed completely dry in spite of some light rain during two nights. There are two mesh storage pockets on opposite sides of the tent which were handy for a flashlight, glasses, billfold, watch, etc., and we found that the rings in the ceiling (for a gear net that's not included) could be used to clip a small light to. The tent seems very well made, and everything about it works perfectly. The light weight and small size make packing a breeze. We couldn't be more satisfied!
