One of the best lightweight but surprisingly warm jackets I have ever owned. It is warmer than a 100 wt fleece but maybe not 200. The grid pattern seems to lock in the warmth in a surprising way. I'm 6'1", 185lbs, 44 chest in suits, and this fleece fits me very well. It's not baggy, but not tight anywhere. It's very warm for its weight. The zippers seem sturdy. The decoration around the chest pocket makes that zipper a little bit hard to use. The waffle pattern of the fleece is nice looking.

This jacket was supremely well constructed, a great weight and design, the only flaw for me is a weird, sulfer smell, I've been trying to wash it out but with limited succes. May update later with more info about how it unfolds.

I use this jacket as an additional base layer and it has performed exceptionally. Used it under my ski jacket as a 3rd layer it made all the difference. The conditions were single digit temperatures and windy.

One of the best lightweight but surprisingly warm jackets I have ever owned. It is warmer than a 100 wt fleece but maybe not 200. The grid pattern seems to lock in the warmth in a surprising way. It has an athletic fit, so it is NOT bulky. I can wear this over a t-shirt or a long sleeve. I often wear as a shirt over a t-shirt because of the fit. Length is down to the hips, so when you go to sit, you don't have to pull it up to your waist. I am 5'9" and about 180 with an athletic build. Arms are perfect. I've worn outside over a long sleeve when temps were in the 40's and I was fine. This would be an awesome layer under a shell for the powder! I got 2 of these!

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
