Most Helpful 4-Star Review
Reviewed by Andrew from Santa Barbara, CA on Friday, August 15, 2014Took this tent backpacking in Sequoia. Really couldn't be happier with it so far...took off one star, reluctantly, since there are lighter tents that pack smaller out there. However, for someone tall (I'm 6'4") this tent works really well. It's a few inches longer than most of the 2-man tents I considered. Set-up is easy and fast, headroom is good, and materials seem very solid. No issues with quality or manufacturing so far. The rainfly does need to be staked out, especially at the ends of the tent, to function well in a downpour. Extra stakes and line are included for this. Once done, the tent was perfectly dry in reasonably heavy rain. Love the double doors and vestibules (it's a two man tent that can actually work for two), though I do wish the vestibules had a slightly larger footprint. All in all, highly recommended.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Barnhart Kid from Missouri on Saturday, July 12, 2014I use mine for kayak trips where size and weight does matter. It fits across the rear of the cockpit sideways and is short enough that it does not get caught on obstacles, tree branches and the like that I pass by. Has its own footprint which is a must for gravel bars. Does not get a 5 because the tie down pegs are near worthless in the gravel. Aftermarket pegs are much better.
I snap the rain fly onto the rear clips only so I can sleep "under the stars." I only put the rain fly up if it starts raining.
Overall I am very pleased.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Chikadee on the river from PA on Friday, June 20, 2014I noticed the zipper construction is not smooth, the material is cheaper, and the tent did not erect quickly. I will keep the tent for use once or twice a year but I was disppointed in the quality.
Reviewed by Hikingman from Alabama on Tuesday, April 30, 2013We were looking for a backpacking tent that would be versatile and roomy enough for 2. After shopping numerous websites, I found exactly what I was looking for. Can be used for ultra light or full tent camping. Going to the Wind River Range soon to try it out for an extended stay.
