Just what I wanted

It seems like primaloft (trade name) is at such a premium price wise so I found Marmot...(insulation supposed to be as good as primaloft) so far it is working out well...I like the extra mobility and the light weight alternative for sports and for general running around. If I was to sit still in my yard in the middle of the winter for long periods of time I would go with my down jacket but I haven't tried this jacket out in such a situation; however, I live in NJ near Philadelphia, zone 6 gardening zone and it sure beats the big puffy pillsbury dough boy down jacket. My old primaloft from EMS was as good as down so this one will probably be just as good based on my intuition and experience...just hasn't been that cold yet...
Midst of a winter storm Janus and I sure am shoveling in this jacket NOT my North Face 800 down jacket....
MUCH MORE CONVENIENT and easier to wear than DOWN. That is why I stayed with synthetic....perhaps if I lived in VT or Mass or Minnesota or Alaska...but I don't ...so this is perfect for me and soooo lightweight.
I love it
PS: I never tried it out in any of the aforementioned freezing tundras so I don't know either way....
