5.0 out of 5 stars. Runs a little large

Love this vest! It's a great layer to wear either a thin long-sleeve or a sweater underneath. However, I did have to exchange for a smaller size (normally a large but got a medium instead) since it was way too much room in the chest and back area. The medium fits great.
For reference - I'm 5'10" 155lbs and am between a medium/large but typically wear a large for comfort.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Little longer and absolutely weightless
Reviewed by PennyJ from Montana on Sunday, April 28, 2019
I purchased this vest for myself and got others for employees. I have worn mine constantly and chose it over other ‘favorite’ vests all season. I also noticed that others wore theirs nearly every day. The loft is perfect and feels weightless while providing warmth. On sub zero days, I used it under my down jacket and it was a winning combo.

The vest does run a smidgen large and is about an inch longer than my other down vests. On my frame 5’6” / 150#, the length is flattering and works well with my more curvy frame. I originally thought L but went with a M and it’s a perfect fit.

I had these embroidered with a company logo and it looks sharp! Minimal feather shedding. So light you forget you’re wearing it.

I got the purple one the lining is bright orange red and does not match the purple. It is also more flimsy than it looks on line.

Not quite as warm as I was expecting, but I love the way it looks and will work for casual wear, or underneath a shell on a not so cold day.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
