Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by MoNu from Indianapolis, IN on Friday, December 13, 2013I purchased this Feb 2013 after being hired on at an organic farm.
It meets all of my criteria.
-Superb fit/true to size
-No baubles/buttons on the outside to snag while I work.
-It keeps me the perfect temperature even in the worst weather on the farm.
-The material is perfect for rugged work & spot cleans easily.
-Even the colours are perfect. I went with the chocolate brown, but the blue would have been just as durable a hue.
I even love the pocket design.
I'm pretty impervious hiking through [...] weather with this coat. Probably my best purchase yet from STP.
Reviewed by Sassy23 from Texas on Wednesday, April 24, 2013I really like this coat. I have not worn it yet, but it is very warm and thick so I believe it will be perfect for cold days.
Reviewed by Kalina from Washington, DC on Saturday, March 23, 2013I also did a LOT of research before buying this jacket. I am about 5 foot 7 and weight about 140lbs and I have a thin frame but I do have some hips. I bought the medium and I love it because I have a little room for layering. But the small would have also fit if I didn't have to layer. The large would have been too big. I can see how some people say that the sleeves are too short. They are actually the perfect length when your arms are straight down or slightly bent in your pockets. But if you raise your arms or put them straight out, the sleeves do pull back about an inch shorter than is comfortable. But I've worn it a number of times in cold, windy, and drizzly weather ranging from 25-45 degree weather and I've been completely comfortable. I LOVE the wind and water resistance. What good is a warm down coat if it gets wet and takes away the loft? I love the zippered pockets, but my absolute favorite feature is the warm collar around my neck even when the hood is not up. And the hood really is very warm. The coat is easy to walk in even though it hits above my knees. The only thing I would like to see improved are the fleece cuffs inside the sleeves. That's the only thing about the North Face Tremaya jacket that I liked better, the cuffs. But who could compare 650 loft vs. 550? I went with the Marmot Chelsea Down coat and I don't have any regrets.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by cgull from Manasquan, NJ on Tuesday, February 26, 2013I am happy happy happy with this coat. I live on the water and walk my 3 big dogs, seven days a week. Last week with the wind chill it was considered zero outside. I put on the coat and was warm as toast, even with the wind howling. It isn't too bulky so it is fine for driving in the car while wearing it. I bought a large and I am 5'8 and can still wear a heavy sweatshirt underneath. Thank y
