This is very versatile, as it's extremely lightweight, has a seam-sealed waterproof membrane, waterproof front zipper, is a good windbreaker, and packs very small. This jacket is very attractive on, and weighs just 6 oz. It's great for a cool summer evening, or early fall/late spring with a lightweight fleece under it. And it's keeps me dry in the rain. I have two: Lithium, a lovely light silver gray, and Cobalt, a beautiful, bright true blue. The Lithium jacket is slightly see-through, but it's opaque in Cobalt. The hood adjusts with pull cords, it has zippered hand pockets, pull cord at the hem, and velcro cuff closures. It's 25" long in S, the size that fits me best (5'4" 110 lb). I orig. tried XS, which fit too close (even just over a T shirt) and was 1" shorter. It's one of my favorite pieces of clothing.

    • Pros: breathable, Waterproof, Windproof

Mine weighs just 6 oz., great for travel or just to throw in a tote bag for when a jacket may be needed on the go. The S fits perfectly (I'm 5'4", 110 lb). I'd tried an XS but it was too small/short, fit like a petite size. I'll use it spring through early fall (mine easily fits over a lightweight fleece jacket). For summer's cooler evenings or rain, it doesn't feel too hot and seems pretty breathable. It has an adjustable hood that fits well, a pull cord at the hem, and 2 front zip hand pockets covered by a rain flap. It's a good length, 25" back, 22" front (size S). I normally prefer a 2-way zipper, which this doesn't have (I could find no jacket this light with that), but it is easy to sit in zipped up, even with a fleece layer under it. The fabric is relatively soft, and thin, but not too thin. Mine is a medium color and you can't see through it.

    • Pros: breathable, Lightweight, packable, Waterproof

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
