Essential gear

So this is my second one. Wanted a backup in different color. (Afraid they will quit making this thing) No it does not get the street cred it deserves, but ask any southeast backpacker if they have one and the answer is yes. The reason is versatility and that it fills a niche other jackets do not. It is very light, very breathable, packs well, and the liner keeps the exterior wind layer just off the skin for warmth. Comfort in a wide temperature range. Does not retain sweat when backpacking like a lot of base layers. Can be a base layer, second layer or outer layer in dryer conditions. Dries fast when wet. I take it over other Patagonia pieces of gear.
