Repels light rain that beads, and has many pockets with excellent zippers. Ordered the 2XL which fits like its between an XL and a 2XL. The hood is way too big all around and no drawstring on the back for a star reduction. Otherwise a nice jacket. Marmot needs to get their act together on the hoods. This isn't the only jacket from marmot where I have had problems.

I have over ten Marmot jackets, including several Driclimes, ROM, Gravity, Ion Hoody and an Alpinist Shell. This jacket ranks up there in terms of weather protection and comfort. As a casual, urban wear jacket, it looks great (my girlfriend's favorite) and fits well - sleeves are appropriately shorter, length is a bit longer and the material has enough stretch to make it much more comfortable than a regular street jacket. The only complaint I have is the hood is a bit large for my head and has fewer adjustment points than other Marmot jackets. Still, I really enjoy this jacket and look forward to wearing it more after summer.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
